BEAVER DAM, Ky. — Darrell Thomas (Tom) Howell, of Beaver Dam, went to his heavenly home Dec. 7, 2018, surrounded by his love ones. He was 72 years-old. He was born Feb. 11, 1946, in Renfrow Kentucky, son of the late Edwin and Yetti Howell.

He was an over the road truck driver until he retired in 1999; he then went to work at Perdue in Beaver Dam until 2002. He served as the chairman of the Republican Party, was a Kentucky colonel, and was a member of the Hartford Christian Church. He enjoyed playing cards and playing with all the grandchildren.

Mr. Howell was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Howell; brothers Jerry and Roy; sisters, Dimple, Marlene, Ramona, and Opal.

He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Brenda, which he referred to her as being his world. He is survived by a daughter, Kathy (Barry) Dooley, of Alabama; stepdaughter, Sandi Geary (Mike) Stenberg; stepson, Bobby (Kelly) Geary, from Centertown, Kentucky; seven grandkids; 15 great-grandkids; brothers, Jim (Dorthy) Howell, of Nicholasville, Kentucky, Donnie (Jean) Howell, of Olaton, Kentucky, Ronnie (Marie) Howell, of Spain; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be a memorial service at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, at the Hartford Christian Church, 122 West Walnut Street, Hartford KY. Friends may visit with Mr. Howell’s family from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at the church.
