OWENSBORO, Ky. — Ella Mae Alvey, 74, of Owensboro, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2018, at the Owensboro Center. She was born in Ohio County, Kentucky, Dec. 14, 1943, to the late Alex Bratcher and Gracie Hall.

Ella assisted her husband with his painting business, and was a member of Temple Baptist Church. She enjoyed bingo, playing the lottery, fishing, camping, and knitting. Ella especially loved spending time with her grandbabies.

Along with her parents, Ella was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Alvey; brothers, Roger, James, Jerry, Junior; sister, Ruby; daughter, Elisha; and her son, Samuel.

Ella is survived by her children, Damon “Booner” Ray (Barbara) Hall, Jr., Mike (Diane) Hall, Thomas (Jeanne) Hall; grandchildren, Holly (Scott) Hays, Todd (Jeni) Hall, Mike Hall, Ashley Hall, Corey (Nicole) Hall, Kaci Hall, Zach Hall; six great-grandchildren; and her siblings: Shirley (Jewel) Duke, Andy (Linda) Bratcher, Dexter Bratcher, Kathy (Perry) Grant, Bud (Dalene) Bratcher, Tom Bratcher, and Billy Joe Bratcher.

Services will be noon Thursday, Oct. 11, at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial to follow at Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., and again from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the funeral home.
