LEITCHFIELD, Ky. — Clifton Ray Cannon, 76, passed away Aug. 9, 2018, at Grayson Manor Nursing Home in Leitchfield. He was born May 16, 1942, in East Chicago, Indiana, to Guy Clifton and Essie Faye Veteto Cannon.
He was a farmer, a high school graduate, and a veteran of the US Air Force. He loved the outdoors, fishing and hunting.
Mr. Cannon was married for 52 years to Linda Pauline Whitely who survives. They were married Oct. 23, 1965, at Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Ohio County, Kentucky. Also surviving are 12 nieces and nephews.
He was dearly loved and the best uncle in the world.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 13, at the Caneyville Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 12, and again on Monday from 10 a.m. to the time of services. Bro. Chessie Shartzer will officiate. Burial will follow in the Caney Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
