OHIO COUNTY, Ky. — Michille A. Hicks, 55 years, passed away on July 21, 2018, at Ohio County Hospital in Hartford, Kentucky. She was born in Hartford on July 10, 1963. Michille was the daughter of James Laws and his wife, Barbara, of Dundee, Kentucky, and her mother, the late Barbara Lou Getridge (2015).
A lifelong resident of Ohio County, Kentucky, she enjoyed the time she would spend with her family. She loved to dance, her favorite was ballet. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed making pottery. She was especially proud over the years to volunteer as a tax preparer in Hartford assisting families that needed help in filing their yearly tax returns.
In addition to her father she is survived by her stepfather, Robert Getridge, of Centertown, Kentucky; her sons, Paul Monestere (Shawnda Sanders), of Fordsville, Kentucky, Gregory Monestere (Emily Gilbert), of Bowling Green, Kentucky; brothers, Michael Laws, of Gary, Indiana, and Jon Laws (Dawn), of Cedar Lake, Indiana; grandmother, to Kellsie and Jeremiah Howard and Nevaeh and Madisen Cornett; great-aunt, Jewel Murphy, of Radcliff, Kentucky; along with her nieces, Meghan and Amanda Laws; and a nephew, Jaxson Laws.
Visitation will be held at Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home in Hartford on Sunday, July 22, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 11 a.m. where friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home is both honored and privileged to be entrusted with the care of Michille Hicks.
