UTICA, Ky. — Mary Dale Stites, 78, of Utica, passed away on Friday, June 29, 2018, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born on March 13, 1940, in Farmersburg, Indiana, to the late Elmer and Dorothy McCrocklin Bailey.
Mary retired from a job she loved at Daviess County Hospital after 43 years. She was a long time member of Old Panther Creek Church. She loved to spend time with her family and especially her grand babies.
Mary was a loving wife, sister, and mamaw and will be greatly missed.
Along with her parents, Mrs. Stites was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Carra Shea Stites.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 50 years, Darrel Stites; daughter, Anita Meeks (Gary), of Masonville, Kentucky; stepson, Darell Stites Jr. (Susan), of Philpot, Kentucky; stepdaughters, Eva Bruner (Phil), of Newburgh, Indiana, and Donna Stites, of Indianapolis, Indiana; brothers, David Bailey (Linda), of Beaver Dam, Kentucky, and Richard Bailey (Sheila), of Owensboro, Kentucky; a sister, Pauline Swisher, of Illinois. Mary was also blessed with four grandchildren; Travis, Taylor, Arron Stites, Meagan Majors, and Rachel Reising; and three great-grandchildren, Audry and Carson Taylor, and Aven Reising .
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 3, at Old Panther Creek Church in Whitesville, Kentucky. Burial will follow in Old Panther Creek Cemetery. Visitation is from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday, July 2, at Cecil Funeral Home and after 10 a.m. on Tuesday at the church with services following at 11 a.m.
