HARTFORD, Ky. — It is with great sadness that the family of Daniel Ray Dockery, announces that after 4 ½ years, his long fought battle with cancer has ended, on Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at 12:03 a.m. He was 43 years-old and passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family.

Daniel, born Oct. 2, 1974, at 11:07 p.m., at Ohio County Hospital in Hartford, Kentucky, was highly accomplished in many areas of his life. He composed and wrote several pieces of music which have been published on many different music sites. He was an artist, mathematician and writer. He has several accomplished pieces that are published in professors journals throughout different universities.

He was very distinguished in speaking and writing in about 27 different languages. He knew how to rebuild computers and knew technology like the back of his hand.

He was a very talented man, with many accomplishments of which his family was very proud.

Daniel is survived by his parents Ray and Brenda (Daugherty) Dockery, of Hartford; one brother, Robert Dockery (Christel), of Athens, Alabama; a nephew, Paul Dockery, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky; a niece, Kristi Monroe (Christopher), of Beaver Dam; a great-niece, Kensi Monroe; and two great-nephews, Conner Monroe and Chasen Monroe. He also has several aunts, uncles, and cousins from both the Dockery and Daugherty families.

He will be forever missed by his family and friends. A graveside service was held in honor of Daniel at Oakwood Cemetery in Hartford on Friday, June 22. Rev. James Crump officiated the service with scripture and prayer. He will be buried next to his Grandma Dockery and his Aunt Linda Tinsley.

One of Daniel’s doctors said this of his passing, ”the world truly lost a brilliant mind when Daniel passed.”

Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam were in charge of arrangements.

The family ask that donations be given to the Colorectal Cancer Organization and Hospice of Ohio County.
