ROCKPORT, Ky. — Like Jesus, “the firstborn from the dead” (ESV, Colossians 1:18), Wanda Brown has been resurrected from her “borrowed tomb” to live forevermore.

She was born Dec. 8, 1937, in the now-extinct town of Martwick in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky, to Pascal Devar and Rachel (Duncan) Ezell.

A 1955 graduate of Drakesboro High School, she was a homemaker.

Until poor health took its toll, she attended Rockport Christian Fellowship Church. She was a faithful and active member of the Ohio County Hospital Auxiliary for more than 25 years.

Wanda was preceded in death by her sister, Elizabeth Jean Ingram, in 2008.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Earl Ray Brown; her son, Kelly Earl Brown, both of Rockport; her daughter, Lugenia Rae Brown (Mike) Sapp, of Hartford, Kentucky; grandchildren, Aaron (Erica) Brown, Travis (Caitlin) Brown, Lee Sapp, and Katie (Junior) Staggs; three great-grandchildren; her sister, Anna Louise Milligan, of Central City, Kentucky.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, April 15, at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Bro. Recie Young officiating. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home and after 12 noon Sunday.
