CROMWELL, Ky. — Alvin “Howard” McKinley, 76, of Cromwell, went to his heavenly home on Sunday, April 1, 2018, at Ohio County Hospital. He was born on June 4, 1941, in Ohio County, Kentucky, to the late Ones Herman “Roebuck” McKinley and Edith Inez Payton McKinley.
Mr. McKinley retired from Ohio County Road Department and was formerly employed by Southern States. He was a member of Cool Springs Baptist Church, former Master Mason of Cromwell Masonic Lodge and a former member of Beaver Dam Masonic Lodge 420 F&AM.
Mr. McKinley was an avid fox hunter and enjoyed woodworking.
Aside from his parents he was preceded in death by four sisters, Jealine Evans, Rhea Fulton, June Maddox, and Kay McKinley, and a granddaughter, Dwaynetta Beebout.
Mr. McKinley is survived by his wife, Erma Lee McKinley, of Cromwell; stepson, Larry Thomas (Debra) Allen Sr., of Cromwell; four stepdaughters, Elizabeth Louise (Charles) Jones, of Beaver Dam, Annette Carol (Wayne) Jones, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky, Angela Marie (Marcus) Marsh, of Cabot, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Larry Allen Jr., Charles Ray (Kendra) Jones Jr., Joshua Jones, Crystal (Eddie) Kassinger, Nick Green, Tyler Green, and Jordan Marsh; 14 great-grandchildren, Jeanna Allen, Larry Allen III, David Jones, Nicole Jones, Leaha Jones, Jazmyne Buck, Jorden Hudnall, Adam Beebout, Isabel Allen, Anna Allen, Jaxon Williams, Cameron Marsh, Ava Kassinger, and Steven Beebout; a great-great-grandchild, Harley Rose Harmon; brother, Jay (Bonnie) McKinley, of Hartford, Kentucky; and sister, Anna Lois (David) Holbert, of Maryville, Tennessee.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky with Bro. Bobby Phelps and Rev. Jerry Alexander officiating. Burial will follow in Green River Cemetery in Cromwell. Friends may visit with Mr. McKinley’s family from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
