HARTFORD, Ky. — Michael R. Finley, 71, of Hartford, passed away on Monday, March 26, 2018, at his residence with family members by his side. Michael was born March 4, 1947, to the late Vedell and Madeline Cox Finley.
He was a proud Veteran of the United States Navy. He was a welder and prior to his retirement had worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Prior to that he had worked for the Peabody Mine Company.
He is survived by his sons; Darrell Finley (Krista), of Falls of Rough, Kentucky, Michael G. Finley (Amber), of North Middletown, Kentucky; a brother, Glen Finley (Lilia), of Bowling Green, Kentucky; grandchildren, Heather and Hallie Finley, and Hannah Rogers; and great-grandchildren, Melanie and Peyton LoPresto, and Alice Hodges.
Private cremation was selected by the family. No formal services will be held. Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home of Hartford is both honored and privileged to be entrusted with the care of Mr. Finley.
