RUSSELL SPRINGS, Ky. — William Edward Peters, 88, of Russell Springs, passed away Friday, March 23, 2018, at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. He was born Sept. 29, 1929, in McHenry, Kentucky, to the late Shirley and Alma Davidson Peters.

Mr. Peters retired from Cummins Diesel Company in Columbus, Indiana, and was a member of The Church of God in Franklin, Indiana. He also served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Aside from his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Lester Peters; one daughter, Patricia Diane Peters; one brother, Alvin Peters; and one grandchild, Quinton Tallent.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Schroader Peters, of Russell Springs; five daughters, Beverly Jones, of Olathe, Kansas, Teresa (Dallas) Luttrell, of Russell Springs, Judy (John) Strain, of Cleveland, Tennessee, Nora (Wesley) Tallent, of Albany, and Dora Gadberry, of Shelbyville, Indiana; one daughter-in-law, Beth Peters, of Franklin, Indiana; 13 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; one brother, Hollis Peters, of Hartford, Kentucky; and three sisters, Ruth (Reginald) Utley, of Hartford, Martha Thompson, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky, and Faye Geary, of McHenry, Kentucky.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Bro. Mike Bunch officiating. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam with full military honors provided by Ohio County Honor Guard. Friends may visit with Mr. Peters’ family from 11 a.m. until the time of the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
