MORGANTOWN, Ky. — Betty J. Embry, 80, of Morgantown, passed away Sunday, March 11, 2018, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born in Central City, Kentucky, on July 4, 1937, to the late Marion “Whit” and Nervie Stanley Harrison.
She was a homemaker and volunteered at the Morgantown Mission, loved taking care of beautiful roses and her neighbors.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, George W. Embry; son, Ricky Embry; grandson, Rick Nicholas Embry; and several brothers and sisters.
Betty is survived by children, Calvin J. Embry (Marci), of Wayne City, Illinois, Christopher Embry (Marybeth Silver), of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Erdest “Bucky” Embry, of Wayne City, Angela “Annie” Coy (Adam), of Beaver Dam, Kentucky, and Vicky Cardwell, of Auburn, Kentucky; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Kirkwood, Charles, Gayle, and Jamie Harrison; sister, Eva Carden; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 15, at 1 p.m. with Bro. Pete Phelps officiating. Burial with be in the Wade Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 14, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Thursday from 8 a.m. until time of service at Smith Funeral Home.
