Suspect sought in Centertown bank robbery

HARTFORD, Ky. — The Ohio County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a suspect who robbed a Centertown bank this morning.

Around 10 a.m. this morning, Ohio County Central Dispatch received a 911 call from the Commonwealth Community Bank in Centertown, Kentucky, reporting a robbery. The Sheriff’s Office, along with Kentucky State Police, Beaver Dam Police Department, Hartford Police Department, and Centertown Police Department, responded to the scene.

According to Sheriff Tracy Beatty, the suspect entered the bank and demanded money from the tellers. He was described as a black male, around 6 feet tall and 150 to 175 pounds. The suspect has a medium build and short black hair.

The suspect was wearing a black and burgundy hooded Reebok jacket, a black bandana with white design over his face, black pants and carrying a black Adidas duffel bag. The suspect fled the bank on foot with an undetermined amount of money.

The Sheriff’s Office is offering a $500 cash reward for the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for the robbery.  The Commonwealth Community Bank is also offering a $500 cash reward for the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for the robbery.

The investigation is ongoing at this time.
