Damon Lee Park

In Obituaries by Dustin Bratcher

OWENSBORO, Ky. — Damon Lee Park, 77, of Owensboro, died Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born Dec. 29, 1940, in Ohio County, Kentucky, to the late Herschel and Orpha Park.

He was owner of Four Star Sheet Metal of Owensboro and retired from Sheet Metal Workers Local 20.

Damon was a one of a kind husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. He loved working on cars, playing the piano and being “Pa” to his daughter and two granddaughters.

Those who knew him well will remember how he lived by the phrase, “short visits make long friends.” While we feel that his visit on Earth was too short, we rejoice with our longtime friend and brother in Christ as he is in the presence of his King.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Donnie Jean Chapman.

Damon is survived by his wife of 57 years, Janice Pirtle Park; his daughter, Susan Park Huff (Tony); and his granddaughters, Park Huff and Skye Huff. He is also survived by one niece, Gail Chapman Camp (David), one great-niece, and one great-nephew.

A graveside service will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Hartford, Kentucky, on Friday, March 9, at 11 a.m. The family asks people in attendance to dress casual.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to Bellevue Baptist Church’s Designated Ministry Fund.
