McHENRY, Ky. — Versie M. Baize, 94, of McHenry, passed away Saturday, Feb. 24, 2018, at Signature Healthcare of Hartford, Kentucky. She was born July 24, 1923, in Ohio County, Kentucky, to the late Sydney Albert and Mollie Southard Moseley.
Mrs. Baize was a member of Independence Baptist Church where she loved to sing and was a Sunday School Teacher.
Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil “Buster” Baize; two sons, Gary Baize and Kerry Baize; and a grandson.
Survivors include her daughters, Joetta (Roger) Devore, of Bloomington, Illinois, and Susan (Paul) Miller, of Stanford, Illinois; daughter-in-law, Jean Baize, of Hartford; one brother, Vernie Moseley, of McHenry; one sister, Rava Lindsey, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky; 14 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 21 great-great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 1, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Rev. Jerry Toler officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Beaver Dam. Friends may visit with Mrs. Baize’s family from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. Thursday.
