HARTFORD, Ky. — Michael Ray Ransom, 57, of Hartford, passed away on Feb. 20, 2018, while under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. He was born Sept. 26, 1960, in Daviess County, Kentucky, to the late James and Icie Ransom.

Mr. Ransom enjoyed spending time with his family and praising God. He was a graduate of Fordsville High School. He was an active member of New Hope Church.

Mr. Ransom was preceded in death by a brother, James Manuel Ransom.

Those left to cherish his memory include his brother, Tommie Ransom, of Hartford; his three sisters, Mary (Mark) Hermann, of Owensboro, Kentucky, Sallie (Frank) Smith- Grimaldi, of Hartford, Alice Coppage (Roger McKinney), of Magan Station, Kentucky; two nieces, Icie Fancher, Jamie (Scott) Edmonds; two nephews, Mark Smith and Cody Coppage. He was also survived by several great-nieces and -nephews.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 23, at Cecil Funeral Home Chapel, Whitesville, Kentucky, with burial following at St. Mary of the Woods Cemetery in Whitesville. Visitation is from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 22, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 23, at the funeral home.
