PHILPOT, Ky. — Edna Mae Marksberry Henderson, 86, of Philpot, was received in Heaven by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, Jan. 11, 2018. She was born Sept. 9, 1931, to Jim and Nina Lytle Marksberry in Ohio County, Kentucky.

She married the love of her life, Robert Edward “Big Bob” Henderson, July 2, 1948, in a double ceremony with long time friends, Arthur Jay and Marjorie McIntyre Stewart.

Mrs. Henderson loved spending time with all of her family, especially spoiling all the children; living and working on their farm, tending to a desirable line of registered Aberdeen Black Angus cattle, raising tobacco, gardening, and canning.

She was a member of Providence United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; son, James Frederick Henderson; daughter, Peggy Sue Henderson; brothers, Bill, Frank, Ed, and Fred Marksberry; and sisters, Marie Wilson, Mary Ruth Wilson, Wilma Roberts, Norma Lee Marksberry, June Embry, and Dorothy Nell Roberts.

Survivors include her daughter, Connie Lou Pierson (Bobby); sons, Robert Edward Henderson Jr. (Sue), and Harvey Gene Henderson (Anne Marie); grandchildren, Jeff Pierson (Ginny), Todd Henderson (Christi), Mike Henderson (Jan), Sam Henderson (Jessi), and Sophie Henderson; great-grandchildren, Hunter Henderson, Bailey Borum, Maddie Pierson, Evie Pierson, Hayden Pierson, Michael Garrett Henderson, Harvey Dean Henderson, and Zoey Anne Henderson; and one sister, Helen Roberts.

The family would like to thank the staff of Signature Healthcare at Hillcrest nursing facility; especially Debbie, Cathy, Brandi, and Liberty for all they did for our mother for the past two years.

Services are 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 15, at the Chapel of James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro, Kentucky, with Reverend Brian Roberts officiating. Burial is in Providence United Methodist Church Cemetery in Philpot. Visitation is from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Sunday and from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
