BEAVER DAM, Ky. — As Beaver Dam gets ready to welcome a new restaurant to downtown in 2018, it must first say goodbye to a restaurant on the south side of town.

“It’s the end of an era,” announced the Beaver Dam Denny’s Facebook page this morning. The restaurant closed its doors Thursday night after 18 years of business in Ohio County. Denny’s blamed “low sales volume” for the closing.

From the restaurant’s Facebook page: “We closed our doors on Thursday, January 4, due to low sales volume. We regularly evaluate each of our restaurants to ensure they meet our business objectives, and in this case we determined that discontinuing operations is the best course.”

The Denny’s Facebook post went on to “encourage” its Ohio County customers to visit the restaurant’s other locations in Owensboro and Madisonville.
