BEAVER DAM, Ky. — Norma Jean Potter, 80, of Beaver Dam, passed away Monday, Dec. 11, 2017, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born March 23, 1937, in Edmonson County, Kentucky to the late Raymond Lamar and Vertie Lindsey Lamar.

Mrs. Potter retired from Daltile. Mrs. Potter enjoyed cooking for her loving family, quilting, and UK basketball. As a resident at Signature Healthcare of Hartford she thrived with the various activities and gospel singings at the facility.

Aside from her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William “Sonny” Potter, in 2005, and a brother, Wendell Lamar.

Survivors include one daughter, Sheila (Gary) Raley, of Beaver Dam; one granddaughter, Krista (Corey) Leisure, of Beaver Dam; and two great-grandchildren, Karina and Caiden Leisure; one brother, Ellis (Aileen) Lamar, of Beaver Dam; two sisters, Hazel Lamar, of Beaver Dam, and Jewell (Charles) Hudson, of Beaver Dam; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam, Kentucky. Friends may visit with Mrs. Potter’s family from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. until the time of the service Thursday at the funeral home.
