BEAVER DAM, Ky. — Eloise Tichenor Stenberg, 96, of Beaver Dam died Friday, Dec. 8,2017, at Ohio County Hospital. She was born in the Matanzas community of Ohio County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Doward and Lora Belle Everly Tichenor. She was a member of the Beaver Dam Baptist Church.

She graduated from Centertown High School and worked at General Electric in Owensboro, Farmers Branch Bank in Centertown, Kentucky, and retired from Ohio County Federal Savings & Loan (now First Kentucky Bank) Hartford.

After her retirement in 1986, she worked at the Tourist Information Desk at Western Kentucky Parkway in Beaver Dam, was a member of a volunteer singing group that went once a month to Professional Care Home and sang to the residents. She also was treasurer of the Beaver Dam Woman’s Club 1988-1989.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Stenberg, who died in 1986. She was the sister of the late Nola Gertrude Bell, Hazel Beatrice Hopper, Ruth Marie Render, John Bryan Tichenor, Osborn M. Tichenor, Forrest Clark Tichenor, Bertress Cebern Tichenor, and Matthew Doward Tichenor. Also a grandchild, Richard Duane Brock, and two great-grandchildren, Brittney Peters, Claire Elizabeth Embry.

Survivors include two daughters, Myra Lynn Brock (Richard), of Kingman, Alabama, and Janice Sue Embry (Edward), of Hartford; four grandchildren, Debra Singer and Sharie Brock, both of Alabama, Dr. Eddie Embry, of Beaver Dam, and Brandon Embry, of Lexington, Kentucky; 12 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and
several nieces, nephews, cousins. She is also survived by one sister-in-law, Mary Helen Brown Tichenor, of Beaver Dam.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14, at Bevil Brothers Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday.
