GARFIELD, Ky. — Eugene “Gene” Aldridge, 78, of Garfield, died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017, at his residence. He was born near Kingswood, Kentucky, on May 29, 1939, the son of the late Jess and Goldie Sosh Aldridge.
He was a retired construction superintendent and enjoyed hunting, fishing, yard work and gardening.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jesse Ray; his daughter, Cindy; and two grandsons, Ryan and Matt.
Gene is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ruby Aldridge, of Garfield; two sons, Rod Aldridge, of Garfield, and Ronnie Aldridge (Lori), of Frankfort, Kentucky; two daughters, Angela Whelan (Keith), of Rosetta, Kentucky, and Paula Aldridge, of Garfield; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Finley Aldridge (Bonnie), of Utica, Kentucky, Donnie Aldridge (Sylvia), of Philpot, Kentucky; and one sister, Brenda Hancock (Micky), of Hartford, Kentucky.
Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Wednesday, Dec. 13, at 1 p.m. Burial will be in the Westview Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
