***UPDATE*** KSP makes third arrest in murder of Ohio Co. man

***UPDATE*** OWENSBORO, Ky. (12/6/17 – 2:50 p.m.) — Kentucky State Police detectives charged Marcus Branden Boyken, 29, of Greenville, Kentucky, with tampering with physical evidence. Today’s arrest stems from the ongoing Tromain Mackall investigation which occurred back in July 2016.

Mackall, 29, of Ohio County, was reported missing July 25, 2016. His body was later discovered inside a toolbox floating in Spring Fork Creek in Grayson County.

Boyken is now incarcerated at the Kentucky State Reformatory in La Grange, Kentucky, for other unrelated charges. He was charged there today by detectives and will remain at KSR.

The investigation is ongoing by KSP detectives.

Christopher S. Hill

OWENSBORO, Ky. (11/30/17 – 7:20 p.m.) — Kentucky State Police detectives have arrested a Daviess County man in connection to the kidnapping and murder of Tromain Mackall.

Detectives charged Christopher S. Hill, 33 of Owensboro, with murder, kidnapping (victim death) and tampering with physical evidence. Hill was lodged in the Daviess County Detention Center in Owensboro with no bond.

The investigation is ongoing by KSP detectives.

William E. Howard Jr.

OWENSBORO, Ky. — A Grayson County man has been arrested and charged with the murder of an Ohio County man.

Kentucky State Police detectives charged William E. Howard Jr, 48, of Falls of Rough, Ky., with the murder of Tromain Mackall.

Mackall, 29, who lived in Ohio County, was reported missing to authorities July 25, 2016. His body was later discovered inside a toolbox floating in Spring Fork Creek in Grayson County.

According to KSP detectives, the KSP Crime Lab was able to successfully link Howard to the murder.

KSP troopers found Howard this afternoon in Brandenburg and arrested him without incident.

Howard was charged with murder, kidnapping (death of victim) and tampering with physical evidence. He was lodged in the Daviess County Detention Center in Owensboro.
