BEAVER DAM, Ky. — Ernest “Buster” Boyd, 92 of Beaver Dam, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, Dec. 4, 2017. He was born March 9, 1925, in the Wysox Community of Ohio County to the late Raymond J. and Edna Vaught Boyd.

Mr. Boyd was a United States Navy veteran of World War II. Buster was a longtime member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church where he served in the church choir and dearly loved his Sunday school class.

Mr. Boyd ran Interstate Auto Supply for many years. He retired from Peabody Coal Company Ken Surface mine where he worked as a shop foreman.

Buster was a member of the Hartford Masonic Lodge #675 F&AM.

Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by the love of his life, Stella Lucy Boyd; one brother; Clarence J. Boyd; and one sister, Loretta Fulkerson.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory; three daughters, Bridget (Ricky) Filback, of Hartford, Kentucky, Lu-Sandra Coots, of Beaver Dam, and Michael Lysbeth (J.B.) Speed, of Owensboro, Kentucky; his sister-in-law, Virginia Boyd, of Utica, Kentucky. Buster was blessed with six grandchildren, Wes (Sabrina) Lake, of Hartford, Zach (Tasha) Lake, of Evansville, Indiana, Jarrod (Brandy) Filback, of Owensboro, Angie (Charlie) Patton, of Beaver Dam, Mark (Robin) Coots, of Beaver Dam, and Jeff (DeAnna) Speed, of Owensboro; 11 great-grandchildren, Baileigh, Harper, Colby, Justice, Sydnee, Kylie, Kierstyn, Kevin, Elizabeth, Coltin, Kortni, Stephen, Alex, Aaron, Chad, Jonathan and Sydney; eight great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Dr. Glenn Armstrong officiating. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam with Military Honors provided by the Wesley Phelps Honor Guard. Friends may visit with Mr. Boyd’s family from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. until the time of service on Friday at the funeral home. Masonic Rites service will be conducted at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
