Virginia ‘Gin’ Trogdon

UTICA, Ky. — Virginia “Gin” Trogdon, 84, of Utica, died Nov. 30, 2017, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born June 23, 1933, in Ohio County, Kentucky, to the late Cecil and Ruby Bratcher.

She was a member of Utica United Methodist Church and the Friendship Camping Club. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family.

She has been looking forward to entering the Gates of Heaven to join hands with her lifelong friend and loving husband of 50 years, Ira Mindell “Bub” Trogdon, who passed away April 25, 2003.

She is survived by a son, Gary Dane Trogdon, of Utica; a daughter, Deborah Lynn Anderson, of Utica; three grandchildren, Clint Quinn, Jeremy Trogdon, and Keisha Trogdon; four great-grandchildren, Lilly Ann Quinn, Maggy Mae Quinn, Colton Wade Quinn, and Rylee Grace Joines; a brother, Iman Bratcher, of Hartford, Kentucky; and two sisters, Nina Sue Davis, of Madison, Alabama, and Sheila Kane, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky.

Services are 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 4, at the Chapel of James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro. Burial is in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 12 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Sunday and from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Utica United Methodist Church or to Hospice of Western Kentucky.
