HIGHLAND, Ind. — Elbert Harris, 87, of Highland, passed away Oct. 30, 2017, in Highland. He was born Nov. 9, 1929, in Beaver Dam, Kentucky, to the late Owen Harris and Merle Oglesby.

Mr. Harris retired from Ford Motor Company and served in the United States Air Force.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Netterfield Harris; two adopted sons, John and Mike; and five siblings, Willard Harris, Orbin Harris, Evelyn Clark, Ray Harris and Lena Kegley.

Survivors include one son, Steve (Laura) Harris, of Atlanta, Georgia; three granddaughters, Laura, Kate, and Caroline; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Patsy (Tom) Seaton, of Eddyville, Kentucky, and Alma Currier, of Glendale, Arizona; sister-in-law, Ruby Harris, of Eddyville, and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3, at Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam with Rev. Pete Leach officiating and full military honors by Ohio County Honor Guard. William L. Danks Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
