OWENSBORO, Ky. — Roger Dale Rice Sr., 64, of Owensboro passed away Thursday, Nov. 2, 2017, at the Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.
Born Oct. 28, 1953, he was the son of the late Wilbur A. and Gladys Mae Newton Rice; was a member of Labors Local 1392; and enjoyed fishing, hunting, racing and camping. He was a kind-hearted man who loved his family dearly.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Jessie Lee Rice, Arthur Dwayne Rice, Robert E. Rice, and Billy Don Rice.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Rita Marie Crowe Rice; a son, Roger Dale Rice Jr. and his wife, Autumn; daughters, Shelinia Duncan and her husband, Bobby, and Brandie Sallee and her husband, Chad, all of Owensboro; grandchildren, Taylor Howard, Jessica Rice, Adam Mauzy, Kaleb Duncan, Jasmine Mauzy, Hannah Rice, Savannah Duncan, Kenzie Duncan, Hunter Rice, Braisyn Sallee and MaeLeigh Duncan; brothers, Jim (Debbie) Rice, of Owensboro, Wilbur Raymond (Barb) Rice, of Philpot, Kentucky; sisters, Rosie (Jack) Starks, of Fordsville, Kentucky, Bonnie (Jimmy) Reynolds, of Owensboro; a stepsister, Brenda Tague, of Owensboro; sisters-in-law, Carol Rice and Teresa Rice, of Owensboro; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 12 noon Tuesday, Nov. 7, in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Bill Cooper officiating. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
