MERRILLVILLE, Ind. — Ray C. Poston, 85, of Merrillville, went to his heavenly home on Oct. 31, 2017. He was born in Plasterco, Virginia, Jan. 16, 1932, to the late Ray A. Poston and Maude Rickman Poston.
His family relocated to Bristol, Tennessee, where he was a member of Shelby Street Church of God; later they moved to Gary, Indiana, where he drove a city bus for 25 years and was an interim pastor at Independent Baptist Church in Michigan City, Indiana.
Mr. Poston was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Dorothy Broyles and Edith Hall; and one brother, Harold U. Poston.
Survivors include two brothers, Douglas M. (Donna) Poston, of Hobart, Indiana, and Curley W. (Linda) Poston, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky; two sisters, Christine P. (John) Green, of Beaver Dam, and Bernice P. Burkett, of Cayce, South Carolina; and several nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Rev. Betty Shaver officiating. Burial will follow in Taylortown Cemetery in Beaver Dam. Friends may visit with Mr. Poston’s family Saturday from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
