HARTFORD, Ky. — The Ohio County Sheriff’s Office is warning citizens about a new phone scam making its way around the area.
According to Ohio County Sheriff Tracy Beatty, his office has received reports of a phone scam involving car warranties. The scammers are using software making to make the number they’re calling from appear as 270-298-4400. The phone number is a real number, in fact, it’s the phone number to the Ohio County Judge Executive’s Office.
However, no one from 270-298-4400 will ever call you about a car warranty. If you receive one of these calls, hang up immediately. Do not fall for this scam!
