OWENSBORO, Ky. — Jesse Raymond “Uncle Jesse” Slack, 84, of Owensboro, died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2017, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born in Fordsville, Kentucky, to the late Jess and Eunice Slack.
He was retired from the oil fields and was of the Baptist faith. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was also preceded in death by his companion, Lois Peveler.
He is survived by a sister, Nanette Mattingly, of Fordsville, and several nieces and nephews.
Services are 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29, at Geary Funeral Home, Fordsville, with burial in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Pattiville, Kentucky. Visitation is from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday and after 9 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
