HARTFORD, Ky. — Sandra K. Wilcox, 74, of Hartford, entered into rest surrounded by her family, on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017, at Signature Healthcare of Hartford. She was born on Dec. 8, 1942, in Gary, Indiana, to the late Charles Albert and Margaret Elliott Rupert.
Mrs. Wilcox was a Homemaker and a member of Owensboro Christian Church. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, crocheting, singing, cooking, gardening, and canning.
Aside from her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Lyndell Wilcox, and a daughter, Sharon Wilcox.
She was also preceded in death by four siblings, Charlene Gorman, Margene Llamas, Larry Rupert, and Elaine Cowger.
Survivors include five children, James “Jimmy” Wilcox, of Hartford, Lisa Wilcox Sutton and Janet Wilcox (Brian) Brandle, both of Owensboro, Kentucky, Tanya Wilcox (Bryan) Dunning, of Greenville, Indiana, and Julie Hudson, of Hartford. Mrs. Wilcox was blessed with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, at Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home in Hartford, with Pastor Russ Smith officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Hartford. Friends may visit with the family from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
