CALHOUN, Ky. — Raymond J. Walker, 88, of Calhoun, passed away Friday, Oct. 6, 2017, at the Heartford House in Owensboro. Raymond Jasper Walker was born May 16, 1929, in McLean County, Kentucky, to the late Charlie and Della Baker Walker and was married to the former Patty Porter Johnson.

Raymond was a lifelong devoted Christian. In his youth, he was a member of Pack Baptist Church and was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church for the last 60 years, where he served on the Administrative Board and taught Sunday School for over 50 years.

Raymond was a McLean County farmer who took great pride in his land, crops, livestock, buildings, and equipment. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing.

In addition to his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by his brother, Hugh Walker.

Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Patty Walker; a son, Terry Walker (Carol Ann), of Calhoun; two daughters, Becky Mahurin (Joe), of Bozeman, Montana, and Ruth Walker (Jimmie Sapp), of Owensboro, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Sheryl Hahn (Scott), of Olney, Illinois, Scott Mahurin (Brandy), of Great Falls, Montana, Carrie Mahurin, of Bozeman, Mary Guinn Haney, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky, and Lea Carol King (Brad), of Utica, Kentucky; five great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; a niece, a great-niece and a great-nephew.

The family thanks the wonderful caregivers who have made it possible for Raymond to stay in his home on the farm for the past three years.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel with the Rev. Steve Proctor officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery in McLean County. Friends may visit with Raymond’s family from 12 p.m. until 3 p.m. Monday at Musters in Calhoun.
