CASEY, Ill. — James Leon Baize, 68, of Casey, formerly of McHenry, Kentucky, passed away at 12:05 a.m. Friday, Sept. 22, 2017, at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Cole County, Illinois. Leon was born Jan. 16, 1949, in Ohio County, Kentucky, the son of Ealy Payton Baize and Anna Laura Reynolds Baize.
He was retired from Lusterlite in Casey. He was a member of the Casey VFW Men’s Auxiliary and the Casey Moose Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Joe Baize; half-brothers, Henry Baize, Carmen King, and Oathie Baize; and half-sister, Yetta Moseley.
Survivors include his companion, L. Rogene Wolfe, of Casey; daughter, Michelle Vincent (Danny), of Greenville, Kentucky; brother, Connie Baize (Cecilia), of Clovis, New Mexico; half-brother, Gene King, of Oklahoma; half-sister, Christine Weidner, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky; grandchildren, Drew Fletcher and Sabrina Vincent; great-grandchildren, Easton, Karaline, and Oliver Fletcher; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Services will be Friday, Sept. 29, at 5 p.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Rev. Lealin Geary officiating. Visitation will be Friday after 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial in Echols Cemetery at a later date.
