REYNOLDS STATION, Ky. — Zephyrinus Darrell Crabtree, 68, of Reynolds Station, died on Friday, Aug. 18, 2017, at Vanderbilt Hosptial in Nashville. He was born in Daviess County, Kentucky, on Oct. 1, 1948, to the late Zeffie and Catherine Bickett Crabtree.
Darrell was a member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church, and was retired from Alcoa. He was a Vietnam Veteran and served in the U.S.
Navy. He was a hard worker, a great dad, and loved his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Sherman Crabtree and Ann Marie Fulkerson.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carmie Payne Crabtree; three children, Zeph Crabtree (Pam), of Reynolds Station, Petrina Crabtree Estes (Chad), of Lewisport, Kentucky, and Trevor Crabtree and his wife, Rachel, of Whitesville, Kentucky; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dennis Crabtree (Margaret), of Ashland City, Tennessee, and Ed Crabtree (Becky), of Reynolds Station; and one sister, Darlene Crabtree, of Whitesville.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 22, at St Mary of the Woods Catholic Church in Whitesville. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, with prayers at 7:30 p.m. and from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday at Cecil Funeral Home.
