BEAVER DAM, Ky. — Royce Vernon Bratcher, 71, of Beaver Dam, entered into rest on Monday, Aug. 14, 2017, at Ohio County Hospital in Hartford. He was born Dec. 26, 1945, in Ohio County, Kentucky, to the late Willie and Nevilene Marie Iler Bratcher.
He was a member of Leach General Baptist Church and a retired truck driver.
Aside from his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Vernon Scott Bratcher; one sister, Sheila Tarrance; and four great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Matty Geary Bratcher, of Beaver Dam; five children, Darla (Johnny) Heflin, of Horse Branch, Kentucky, Carla (Mark) Filback, Ronnie (Gradaphene) Daugherty, Charles Bratcher, of Beaver Dam, and Joseph (Jaujauna) Bratcher, of Cromwell, Kentucky; and one brother, Duel Hoyt (Dee) Bratcher, of Horse Branch. He was blessed with 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 17, at Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home in Hartford, with Bro. Ricky Dockery and Bro. Glendon Geary officiating. Burial will be in Zion Harmony Cemetery in Butler County. Friends may visit with the family of Royce Bratcher from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
