FORDSVILLE, Ky. — Ivan Lee Roach, 78, of Fordsville, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2017, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born Oct. 16, 1938, to the late Henry and Emma Roach.

Ivan retired from Kentucky State Department of Transportation as a heavy equipment operator and was an avid tobacco and cattle farmer. He loved to garden, hunt, fish and take care of his farm.

He was always spending time with friends and family, and always had a good story to tell. Ivan was a member of East Fork Baptist Church.

He also was preceded in death by his son, Ivan Anthony “Tony” Roach; two brothers, Bob Roach and Henry Roach; and one sister, Mary Roach.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Colletta “Blondie” Roach, of Fordsville; his children, Ellen Rowe and husband, Jeff, Eddie Roach, John Henry Roach, Juanita Puckett, Donnie Taylor and wife, Debbie, Sandy Harrington and husband, Phil, and Randy Taylor and Dianna; two brothers, Fred Roach and John Roach and wife, Joyce; two sisters, Peg Harder and husband, Glen, and Susan Pulliam and husband, Randy; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who he loved spending time with and sharing his peanut butter; and several nieces, nephews and many friends.

Services are 2 p.m. Friday, August 11, 2017, at Geary Funeral Home, Fordsville, with burial in Haynes Cemetery, Fordsville. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday and after 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
