OWENSBORO, Ky. — Eva Mae Huff Fuqua, 92, of Owensboro died Sunday, July 16, 2017, at her home. She was born April 3, 1925, in Roseville, Kentucky, and was retired from General Electric.

She was a 55 year member of Breckenridge Street United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years, and a member for 50 years of the Eastern Stars.

She enjoyed working crosswords, bowling, playing her guitar and piano, and spending time with her loving family.

Eva Mae was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Douglas Ray Fuqua; her parents, Oliver and Virgie Boling Huff; a son, Danny Ray Fuqua; a grandson, Jim Clements; a granddaughter, Yvette Fuqua Norris; a stepgranddaughter, Heather Sunn; brothers, Homer Huff, Bernard Huff, Truman Huff and Buddy Huff; and sisters, Almer Boling and Virginia Huff.

She is survived by her daughter, Sylvia Fuqua (Jerry) Porter, of Louisville, Kentucky; a son, Brent (Jenny) Fuqua, of Beech Grove, Kentucky; a daughter-in-law, Violet Fuqua, of Owensboro; a brother, Wallace (Joyce) Huff, of Owensboro; sisters-in-law, Margie Huff and Gloria Huff, both of Owensboro; eight grandchildren: six stepgrandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Services are 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 19, at Geary Funeral Home, Fordsville, Kentucky, with burial in Fordsville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday and after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
