CENTERTOWN, Ky. — Karl Reno, 79, of Centertown, passed away peacefully with his wife by his side Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Karl was born July 22, 1937, in Niagara Falls, New York.

Karl was an operating engineer for Local 463, the owner of R & C Collision, and a partner in the Morning Star Construction Company.

He moved to Bowling Green, Kentucky, in 1985 and opened Reno’s Pizzeria with his son, Michael D. Reno.

He was a big car enthusiast and an avid fan of automobiles. He participated in drag racing, hydro plane racing, and was involved with the National Hydro Plane Racing Association.

Everyone loved Karl for his wonderful sense of humor, his passion for life, and his devout love for his family.

Karl is preceded in death by his parents Karl and Virginia Reno; his brother, Harold Reno, of Niagara Falls, New York; and one grandson, Sean Elliot Reno.

Karl is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lorraine Bielec Reno; one son, Michael and wife, Teresa, Reno, of Bowling Green; grandchildren, Michael S. Reno, of California, Malloreah Fields and husband, Derek, of Richardsville, Kentucky, Joe Reno, and Madilyn Reno, of Bowling Green; great-grandchildren, Mattix and Clayton Fields, of Richardsville; sister, Jenny Reno Veillette; and brother, David M. Reno, of Florida.

Cremation was chosen by the family and performed by the staff of Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home in Hartford, Kentucky. Family and friends are invited to participate in a memorial service for Karl Friday, July 14, at 4 p.m. at Smallhous Church, 350 Smallhous Road, Centertown, KY 42328.

A small meal and fellowship will also take place at the church following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to be made to Smallhous Church, 350 Smallhous Road, Centertown, KY  42328.
