Mevelyn ‘Kay’ Carson

OWENBORO, Ky. — Mevelyn “Kay” Carson, 77, of Owensboro, died June 19, 2017, at the Carmel Home in Owensboro. She was born on Oct. 20, 1939, the daughter of the late Edith and David Kell Carson.

She was a member of Lewis Lane Baptist Church and of the VFW Auxiliary and AmVets.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Edith Parks, in 2015.

She is survived by her brother, William David Carson (Mary), of Newburgh, Ind.; a sister-in-law, Betty Jean Carson, of Bowling Green, Ky.; a son-in-law, Jeff Parks; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Rose Kimbley and Delores Turnage.

A special thanks is extended to the Carmel Home sisters, staff, and residents who were Kay’s family for many years.

The funeral mass for Mrs. Carson is 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 24, at the Carmel Home Chapel. Private burial is in the Carson Family Cemetery in Hartford, Ky. James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro is in charge of arrangements.
