BEAVER DAM, Ky. — Claud Jones, 83, passed away June 11, 2017, at the Ohio County Hospital. He was born in the Echols Community of Ohio County, Ky., on Sept. 11, 1933, son of the late Earl and Katie Belle Hicks Jones.

Claud was a member of the Echols General Baptist Church, was retired from construction work where he was a carpenter. He loved farming, fishing and riding around picking up cans.

Claud was a lifelong musician and played in the Black Mountain Band for over 35 years. Claud also enjoyed collecting antique tractors and others also.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dollie Mae Jones; his sons, Beverly Dale Jones and Clarence Lee Jones; granddaughter, Dwaynetta Beebout (Bradley); grandson, John Cummins; and sister, Anna Belle Ford (C.W.).

Survivors include his 10 children; Barbara (Eddie) Cummins, Charles (Liz) Jones, Wayne (Annette) Jones, Nancy (Ricky) Burden, Thelma (Larry) Duvall, Larry (Joyce) Jones, Sonya (Bart) Jones, James (Marilyn) Jones, Ralph (Ashley) Jones, and Randall (Crissy) Jones; 40 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren; brother, Willis Leon Jones; and sister, Mable Ellen (Jerry) Snodgrass.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Bro. Amos Alsman officiating. Burial will follow in Echols Church Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
