OLATON, Ky. — Sheila Lyvonne Lindsey, 59, passed away on June 5, 2017, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital in Owensboro, Ky. She was born to Winston and Scarlett Payton Lindsey on Oct. 6, 1957, in Hartford, Ky., at Ohio County Hospital.

Sheila worked at Hometown IGA in Hartford.

She devoted her to life to taking care of her family. She enjoyed listening to gospel music, reading, quilting, watching movies and most importantly playing with her nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends.

Sheila attended and belonged to Horse Branch Church of God and graduated from Ohio County High School in 1976.

She was preceded in death by her father, Winston Lindsey, who died Jan. 19, 2004, and her grandparents, Everett and Lorena Lindsey, and Alvie and Lucille Payton.

She is survived by her mother, Scarlett Lindsey; two sisters, Marcia (Jeffrey) Crabtree, and Colleen (Chris) Crabtree, of Olaton; one nephew, Caleb Lindsey, of Olaton; twin nieces, Holly Lindsey, of Olaton, and Molly (Jonathan) Burden, of Utica, Ky.; one great-niece, Skylar Nicole Burden, of Utica; and two great-nephews, Jaxson Ray Burden, of Utica, and Kaiden Abney, of Fordsville, Ky. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

 

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, June 9, at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Bro. Ernest whitely officiating. Burial will follow in Olaton Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
