BEAVER DAM, Ky. — William M. Reynolds Jr., 94, of Beaver Dam passed away June 3, 2017, in Ohio County Hospital.

A lifelong area resident he was born April 2, 1923, in McHenry, Ky., the son of the late William M. Reynolds Sr. and Anna Louise Hill Reynolds.

William was a 1941 graduate of McHenry High School where he was active on the basketball team.

In earlier years William was employed in the family business, Reynolds Auto Supply, with his father and brother, Sam Reynolds.

He was a member Beaver Dam Baptist Church where he was active in the Baracca Men’s Sunday School Class.

William enjoyed family gatherings, creating a beautiful yard, award-winning Christmas lighting, restoring cars, tinkering and fixing everything, and college (UK) and pro basketball on television.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Sam Reynolds.

Surviving him are wife of 75 years, Jean Reid Reynolds, whom he married on Oct. 16, 1941, at the Reid home in Rockport, Ky; two children, Dr. McKinley Reid Reynolds (Sheila), of Mayfield, Ky., Lynn Reynolds Servis (Dave), of Louisville, Ky; and grandchildren Reid, Summer and Keely Reynolds; and great-grandchildren, Maddox and Jayden Reynolds.

The Reynolds family would like to thank the staff of Ohio County Hospital and Dogwood Assisted Living for the care and compassion William received while at their facilities.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Bevil Bros Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Dr. Glenn Armstrong and Rev. John Cashion officiating. Burial will be in Reid Family Cemetery in Rockport. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be donated to Baracca Men’s Sunday School Class at Beaver Dam Baptist Church.
