HARTFORD, Ky. — Jerry Gray Baxley, 75, of Hartford, entered into his eternal rest Sunday, May 28, 2017, at his home with his daughters holding his hands as they were his pride and joys. Jerry was born in Hartford to the late James Ezra and Zella Jane Gray Baxley.

Jerry loved his grandchildren more than anything and very rarely missed one of their events. He was their number one fan. He was an avid UK basketball fan and enjoyed his daily walks at Ohio County Park with his friends.

Jerry retired from Midwestern Gas Transmission, served in the Army Corps of Engineers, he was a member of Dundee Baptist Church, a member of Dundee/Hartford Masonic Lodge #675 and Stanley Chapter Order of the Eastern Star.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Baxley Miller.

Survivors include two daughters, Kristi Baxley (Jarrod) Brown, of Beaver Dam, Ky.,  and Holli Baxley (Terry) McDaniel, of Bowling Green, Ky.,; two brothers, Jimmie (Patsy) Baxley, of Beaver Dam, and Terry (Susan) Baxley, of Hartford; a sister, Ada Lou Nance, of Owensboro, Ky.; four grandchildren, Isaac Shelton Brown, Dawson Gray McDaniel, Maecy Elizabeth Brown, and Matthew Ezra Brown; three nephews and one niece.

Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Bro. Jeff Hawkins officiating. Burial will be in Sunnydale Cemetery near Dundee. Military Honors will be presented by the Ohio County Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 4-8PM Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. A Masonic/Eastern Star service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

The Family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Hospice of Ohio County. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
