PHILPOT, Ky. — Barbara Ann Scher Lanham, 46, of Philpot, passed surrounded by family and loved ones on Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at Heartford House in Owensboro, Ky. She was born July 29, 1970, in Crown Point, Ind., to John Edward and Anna Sue Ralph Scher.
She was a member of St. William Catholic Church. Barbara loved camping, the beach, her grandchild and family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Edward Scher Jr.
Survivors include her husband, Brian Lanham; two sons; Michael Lanham and Austin Lanham, both of Knottsville, Ky.; stepdaughter, Kelsey Lanham, of Owensboro; granddaughter, Rylee Lanham, of Owensboro; her mother, Sue Porras, of Knottsville; two brothers, Tom Westerfield (Pearl), of Hartford, Ky., and Jeff Westerfield (Leisa), of Narrows, Ky.; two sisters; Debra Jacob (Richard), of Knottsville, and Cindy Scher Kellems (Brad), of Deanfield, Ky.; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Funeral mass will be on Friday, May 26, at 11 a.m. at St. William Catholic Church in Knottsville. Burial will be at St. William Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Cecil Funeral Home in Whitesville with prayers at 6:30 p.m. Visitation on Friday will be from 9 a.m. until service time at the church.
