OWENSBORO, Ky. — David Ray “SHOTGUN” West, 57, of Owensboro, passed away on April 1, 2017, at home. He was born in Daviess County, Ky., on May 29, 1959, to LaVega and Barbra Sutton West.

SHOTGUN worked at Coca-Cola for 16 years before he and his wife, Lisa, opened D&L Palace of Pets. He is also a member of the Grim Reapers Motorcycle Club.

SHOTGUN is survived by his wife of 35 year, Lisa West; parents, LaVega West (Barbra) and Alton Ray Evans (Pearline C.); daughter, Lovisa Vee West and Sarah Elizabeth Mickus; son, Dustin Oost (Teresa); brothers, LaVega Truman “L.T.” West (Juliene) and James Wade “Jamie” West (Teresa); along with the Grim Reapers Motorcycle Club; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; and three K-9 grandbabies, Gypsy Rose, Ducky and Harley D.

Services will be 2 p.m. on Friday, April 7, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow at Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Taffy, Ky. Visitation will be 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday and after 10 a.m. Friday at the Funeral Home.

Expressions of Sympathy may take the form of contributions made towards the funeral expenses for David West c/o Lisa West.
