BEAVER DAM, Ky. — Teresa Jeanine Black Geary, 60, of Beaver Dam, departed this life on Friday, March 31, 2017, at Ohio County Hospital in Hartford, Ky. She was born July 16, 1956, in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., to A.W. Black and Martha Kay Baggarly Black.
Teresa loved her job as a pharmacy technician at Rice’s Pharmacy, where she worked for 19 years.
Anyone who crossed Teresa’s path knew that she was an incredibly selfless and giving person with a beautiful soul. She was a lover of animals, which led her to become a member of NASTRA nearly 20 years ago; she grew to love judging bird dog field trials.
Teresa enjoyed working in her flowers and she loved Christmas time, especially shopping for the children.
She was preceded in death by her father, A.W. Black, and her brother-in-law, Chris Geary.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband of 39 years, Keith L. Geary, of Beaver Dam; her mother, Martha Kay Black, of Echols, Ky.; one brother, David Black and companion, Nancy Eggleston, of Echols; one nephew, Dustan Black, of Lewisburg, Ky.; one niece, Ashley (Richard) Owen, of Ft. Lauderdale; three great-nieces, Zella Owen, Rhyan Curry and Blake Curry; one great-nephew, Deen Owen; her mother-in-law, Greta Geary, of Baizetown; aunts and uncles, Betty (Bernard) Maupin, of Beaver Dam, Paula (Carl) Boyd, of Masonville, Ky., JoAnn Westerfield, of Beaver Dam, Conner (Chris) Black, of Ft. Mill, S.C., Bobby Charles Black, of Jacksonville, Fla., Frannie (Roger) Ward, of Hartford, Linda (Eddie) Goff, of McHenry, Ky., and Janie “Tootsie” Decker, of Beaver Dam. Several cousins also survive.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 3, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Dr. Glenn Armstrong officiating. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam. Friends may visit with Teresa’s family from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Sunday and from 9 a.m. until the time of service Monday at the funeral home.
