KathleenCockrellRuffKathleen Rose Cockrell Ruff, 66 of Morgantown, Ky., passed away Saturday, May 9, 2015, at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield, Ky. Kathleen was born Sept. 19, 1948, in Princeton, Ind., to the late Leroy F. and Elfrieda F. Dewig Mayer.

She was a member of Brooklyn Missionary Baptist Church, member of grandparents raising grandchildren and a homemaker.

Kathleen is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband James Ray Cockrell, Sr., and two brothers, Roger and Ronald Mayer.

Kathleen Rose Cockrell Ruff is survived by her husband, Douglas Ruff, of Evansville, Ind.; one daughter, Tamara Reynolds, of Morgantown, Ky.; six granddaughters, Jerrica Cockrell, of Morgantown, Ky., Jazmin Reynolds, of Morgantown, Ky., Casandra Jones, husband Stanley, of Morgantown, Ky., Megan Lindsey, husband Tyler, of Morgantown, Ky., Kionna Cockrell, of Beaver Dam, Ky., and Tessla Cockrell, of Morgantown, Ky.; one grandson, Kristopher Reynolds, of Morgantown, Ky.; four great-grandchildren, Adeline Burden, of Morgantown, Ky., and Maleigha, Makenzie and Makayla Jones, of Morgantown, Ky.; five sisters, Jeanette Wesselman, husband Cliff, of Evansville, Ind., Jeanine Witham, of Evansville, Ind., Barbara Houghton, husband Charles, of Evansville, Ind., Theresa Pinson, of Florida, and Rose Cotton, husband Arthur, of Evansville, Ind.; five brothers, Donald Mayer, of Mt. Vernon, Ind., Francis Mayer, wife Nancy, of Owensville, Ind., Jerome Mayer, wife Mary, of Evansville, Ind., Thomas Mayer, of Owensville, Ky., and Daniel Mayer, of Owensville, Ind.; two stepdaughters, Diane Vanderkooy, of Evansville, Ky., and Lucy Carden, husband David, of Owensboro, Ky.; two stepsons, Michael Cockrell, wife Gracie, of Hartford, Ky., and James Cockrell, Jr., of Beaver Dam, Ky., and several stepgrandchildren and great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Tuesday, May 12, at 3 p.m. with Bro. James Flener officiating. Burial will be in the Brooklyn Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 12, from 10:30 a.m. until funeral time at 3 p.m. at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
