PaulBattonMcBridePaul B. McBride, 87, of Hawesville, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2015, at the Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Born in Hancock County on Nov. 29, 1927, he was the son of the late Vinton and Pauline Basham McBride and was a member of St William Catholic Church.

Mr. McBride began his career working in construction as a heavy equipment operator with the International Union of Operating Engineers. He held many positions with the Union including union organizer, steward, and retired as the Director of Pipelines at the age of 60. Following retirement he worked as an inspector of pipelines until he was 85. He was a champion trap shooter and enjoyed fishing, but most of all, he was devoted to his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Paula Stinnett; a granddaughter, Martha Kay Evans; and brothers, Hugh McBride and Charles McBride.

He is survived by his children, Ann (Joe) Evans, of Owensboro, Lynn (Michael) Sullivan, of Marysville, Ind., Mike (Mary) McBride, of Hawesville, Jerry (Ginger) McBride, of Philpot, Sharon (Sam) Fletcher, of Fordsville, and Alan McBride, of Woodbridge, Va.; 20 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a brother, Clay (Dorothy) McBride, of Indianapolis; a sister, Wanda Jones, of Owensboro; sisters-in-law, Doreen McBride, of Hawesville, and Mary Ann McBride, of Greenwood, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.

Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 24, at St. William Catholic Church with burial following in St. Lawrence Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Monday and from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. on Tuesday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory where prayers will be said at 7:30 p.m. on Monday evening.
