Melvin E. Nevil, 96, of Hudson, Ky., passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at his home. He was born July 15, 1918, in Trimble County, Tenn., to the late William and Versie Cribbs Nevil.
He was a United States Navy Veteran and worked as a machine operator at Lorillard Tobacco Company.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nella Nevil.
Survivors include eight children, David Nevil, of Hudson, Ky., William Nevil, of Warren, Mich., Doug Nevil, of Palmyra, Ind., Shirley Armstrong, Lela Fey, Margaret Geary, Dottie Geary and Cathy Mitchell, all of Louisville; five stepchildren, Ricky Filback and Mike Filback, both of Clarksville, Tenn., Ronnie Filback, of Bee Springs, Ky., Donnie Filback, of Glasgow, Ky., and Peggy Sipes, of Louisville; one brother, Elmer Nevil, of Tennessee; one sister, Willie Webb, of Tennessee, and several grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 20, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Rev. Darrell Blacklock officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service Friday at the funeral home.
