VictorRicheyVictor Lee Richey, 86, of Owensboro, died on Jan. 8, 2015. He was born in Barren County to the late William Ray and Hazel Goode Richey.

Victor was a Supervisor for the Army Reserves from which he retired as a Chief Warrant Officer. He also served in the Army during World War II and the Korean War. Victor was a member at Owensboro Church of Christ. He was also a former elder, deacon and educational director at the church.

Victor was preceded in death by his brothers; William James Richey and Robert C. Richey.

Survivors include his wife, Melba Jean Richey; daughters, Patricia Faye Richey, of Owensboro, Paula Rhea Sapp (Louis), of Pleasant Ridge, and Marilyn Miller (Steve), of Jasper; son, Victor Lee Richey, Jr., (Suzy), of St. Louis; sister, Nelda Hughes; grandchildren, Patrick Sapp (Casy), of Bowling Green, Tamara Sapp (Jonathan Piercy), of Hazard, and David Miller, of Jasper; and great-grandchild, Samantha Sapp, of Bowling Green.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 12, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 1 pm until 5 pm on Sunday and from 8:30 a.m. until time of service on Monday.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to The Church of Christ Building Fund or The Wounded Warrior Project.
