Prentice Lee Hearld, 83, of Central City, died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Mr. Hearld was born Feb. 7, 1931, in Muhlenberg County. He was a retired coal miner, of the Baptist faith, and a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Sybil Duvall Hearld; son, Gary Hearld, of Central City; daughter, Teresa (Frank) Owens, of Madisonville; granddaughters, Jessica Rolley and Krista Bryant; grandson, Jacob Owens; great-grandsons, Zane Owens and Brentlee Bryant; great-granddaughters, Abby Rolley and Realynn Rolley; brother, Billy Hearld, of Graham; and sister, Darlene Deweese, of Ohio County.
Funeral services will be Friday, Jan. 2, at 2 p.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Rev. J.W. Haire officiating, assisted by Rev. Leamon Mefford. Burial in New Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday after 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
