Gurley Lloyd Martin, 90, of Masonville, Ky., passes away Friday, Aug. 29, 2014, at McCracken Nursing & Rehab Center in Paducah, Ky. He was born on Nov. 27, 1923, in Hartford, Ky., to the late Cecil Martin and Bessie Crabb Martin.
Mr. Martin served in the Army during World War II and retired from Union Carbide Chemical Corporation after 40 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Jane Johnson Martin on Feb. 7, 2003, and one sister, Lilian Martin Wesley Thomas.
Survivors include one son, Francis Logan Martin of Monrovia, Calif.; two daughters, Beverly Martin Stevens and Elaine Kay Martin, both of Masonville, Ky.; grandchildren, Chad and Sarah Coots, William Edward Stevens and Candice Rose and great-grandchildren, Haley and Harley Staples and Caroline Rose.
Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home in Hartford, Kentucky have been entrusted with arrangements.
